NBX Makes It's Hollywood Debut

The movie and television spotlights will be on NBX products in the coming months.

NBX phones will be used on both The West Wing and Third Watch on the following dates and in other episodes of these shows throughout the coming season:

• Third Watch Oct. 7th, 9:00pm EST on NBC
• The West Wing Oct. 9th, 9:00pm EST on NBC

On Third Watch, the phones appear in the second floor precinct. In the October 7th episode, police officer Sully takes a call on our phone. On The West Wing, NBX phones are in episodes two and three at Donna's desk and in Josh's bullpen area. That is where they will play in every episode (throughout the season) with the exception of flashback episodes.

In addition, NBX phones will appear in theaters beginning this November. On November 1 over 50 NBX phones will be in the Command Center in the major Paramount Pictures movie The Core, starring Hilary Swank. Trailer and review links follow:

The movie was filmed in Vancouver, Canada and a Canadian NC, Steve Estephan, worked on the set for two days to help configure and operate the phones. Steve's description follows:

The NBX phones were used in the Mission Control "Virgil" scenes. There were approx 50 phones installed, with 6 phones live. The live phones were in the main part of the Mission Control, and all the important actors involved in mission control had live NBX phonesAccording to Set decorations, there would have been some good screen shots of the hero in the Mission Control using our phones. We had special handsets with 3Com logo's on all sides, to make sure the 3Com name would show up. The NBX system was located underneath the control set and the "Set Dec" manager was using a wireless laptop to configure any changes to the phones and proper shutdown operations at the end of each day. I had an AP6000 with a 3Com wireless card in the laptop there. As far as I know they were impressed, and want to use our phones again.

NBX phones will also appear in theaters in the Spring '03. In Head of State, our phones are in a campaign headquarters. In Bruce Almighty, our phones are in the news room. Also in Bruce Almighty we will have sign board ads on the bus that goes up and down the street in the movie.
