Operating a DocSTAR on a network gives users
the ability to access documents stored within the DocSTAR from their
desktop PCs. This saves a walk to the DocSTAR and allows multiple
people to access the system simultaneously.
View and View/File software are used to access DocSTAR on a
network.
View
Software
This software allows the user to search, view, and
print or fax a document in the DocSTAR from their desktop PC.
View/File Software
This software gives the user all
of the functions of the View-only version in addition to the ability
to file documents from a networked PC.
ScanStation Software ScanStation
software, available for Series 3 (DocSTAR 3.0) systems only,
performs all View and File functions and allows scanning with an
ISIS-compatible scanner. See Series 3 Products for more information
and a list of supported scanners.
Simultaneous User Licensing
View and View/File
software are priced on a simultaneous-user basis. This means that
the software can be installed on any number of workstations, but the
customer pays only for the maximum number which will be used at any
moment. For instance, View software might be installed on forty
PC's, but at no time will there be more than five people using it at
once; in this case, only five View licenses need be purchased.
